Pet Remembrance Day: Dates, Reminders & a Candle
There is no grave to visit on a Tuesday. No date circled on a calendar that the rest of the world can see. The dates that matter — the day they left, the day they arrived, their birthday — tend to live only in your head, where they can ambush you in a supermarket queue.
This page does two small things. It keeps those dates for you, on your own device. And it can put a yearly reminder in the calendar you already look at every day. When the day arrives, there is a candle here to light.
How this works
- Save the dates that matter. Nothing is uploaded — they stay in this browser, on this device.
- Add one to your calendar and it becomes a yearly all-day event, in whatever app you already use.
- On the day itself, come back and light a candle. You can light one whenever you like, but on their day this page will know.
- There is no account and no email from us. The reminder lives in your own calendar, and your dates never leave your device.
Questions about this
Will you email me a reminder?
No, and that is deliberate. There is no account and no email list here — your dates never leave your device. The reminder lives in your own calendar app, which is probably already on your phone. That also means: if you clear your browser data, the dates saved here are gone. So if a date really matters to you, add it to your calendar.
What if I do not want a reminder at all?
Then save nothing, and just come back when you want to. The candle is here whenever you need it. Some people find that knowing the date is coming helps them plan for a hard day; others find that a reminder ambushes them. Both are reasonable, and only you know which one you are.
Can I save more than one date?
As many as you like — a birthday and a passing day, or several animals. Each one can be added to your calendar separately, so you can keep one and skip another if that is what you need.
