A few honest answers — what PetLoss is, what it keeps private, and what it costs.
What is PetLoss?
PetLoss is a private companion for pet-loss grief. It brings together gentle support — an SOS tool for overwhelming moments, words of comfort, and guided journaling — with memorial tools that help you make something lasting from the photos and memories you have: memorial cards, posters, printable plaques, tribute videos, a memory timeline, and small daily rituals. It was built for people who have lost a pet, and for the days when no one else seems to understand.
What can I make from my pet's photos?
Memorial cards, posters and portraits, printable plaques (5×7 and 8×10, with PDF crop marks for framing), and cinematic tribute videos with a gentle ambient score. You can add handwriting with your finger or Apple Pencil, soften a photo with watercolor or sketch effects, and keep a recording of the sound they made. Everything is created on your device, so you can print it, share it, or keep it just for yourself.
What can I do when the grief suddenly overwhelms me?
Open the SOS tool. It asks what you are feeling right now, then gives you a short grounding exercise, a breathing timer, and a place to put one sentence — for the minutes when a wave hits and you cannot think. It is free, it works in your browser, and nothing you type is uploaded. In the app the same tool sits one tap away, with a quiet daily check-in and a gentle next step for the day.
Is my writing private?
Yes. There is no account to create, no feed, and no uploads. What you write, the photos you use, and the keepsakes you make stay on your device, and the app works fully offline. That also means we cannot read your journal or your memories — there is nowhere for them to go but with you.
How much does PetLoss cost?
PetLoss is free to start, and the tools that help most in the hardest moments stay free: the SOS tool, the eight grief guides, words of comfort, journal prompts, and the grief check-in. The app includes a complete memorial project and a set of templates at no cost. If you want more, a single one-time purchase unlocks unlimited projects, every template, high-definition video export, 8×10 printing, and backup — there is no subscription, no advertising, and nothing you write is ever sold.
Which languages are available?
The app interface, its comfort content, and its writing content are all available in ten languages: English, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Russian, Persian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. This website publishes the grief guide and its tools in the same ten languages.
Can I use PetLoss without downloading the app?
Yes — there is a great deal here that asks nothing of you. The eight grief guides, thirty words of comfort, journal prompts, a gentle grief check-in, and the SOS tool all work in your browser, free and without an account. When you would like somewhere private to write and to make something from their photos, the app is waiting.
