Keep PetLoss free for the next person who needs it
PetLoss is built and maintained by a small independent team. The grief guide, the words of comfort, the SOS tool, the journal prompts — and the heart of the app — are free, and they stay free. Donations cover the quiet, unglamorous costs that make that possible.
Where your support goes
- 01Servers and delivery. Hosting, CDN and domain costs that keep every page loading quickly, in every language, in every country.
- 02App Store and platform fees. The yearly developer program and the practical costs of shipping app updates to iOS.
- 03Development and maintenance. The hours spent writing new guides, keeping translations accurate, and making sure the app still works on each new version of iOS.
- 04New languages and new tools. Every additional translation and every new gentle tool is paid for by support like this — before it is ever charged for.
Payments are handled entirely by PayPal. We never see or store your payment details.
Free, for everyone, always
The essential tools
The SOS grounding tool, the words of comfort, the journal prompts, the grief check-in, and all eight grief guides stay free — in every language we publish.
No advertising
We do not run ads and we do not sell or share anything you write. Grief is not a targeting signal, and it never will be here.
Your privacy
What you write in the app stays on your device. There is no account, no feed, and no upload — which is also why hosting is not free.
What we will never do
- No paywall on crisis support. The SOS tool and the grief guides will never ask you for money, no matter what.
- No urgency. No countdowns, no funding goals, no suggested amounts. This page will still be here whenever — or if ever — you want it.
- No pressure on the grieving. If you are in the middle of the hardest days, the only thing we want you to do is take care of yourself.
Thank you
If you do choose to give: thank you. It buys quiet hours to keep writing, translating, and answering late-night emails. And if you cannot give, or would rather not, you are just as welcome here — that was always the whole point.
Nothing here is ever required
If now is not the moment — or never is — the grief guide and the words of comfort are waiting for you, free as always.
